¿DÓNDE NACIÓ LA IDEA?
No hace mucho salimos a cenar con unos viejos amigos, celebrando la llegada del buen tiempo. Entre risas, algunos comentamos las intenciones que teníamos para el verano. Mi idea era la de coger el coche y bajar hasta Mali, siguiendo la ruta Atlántica. Mi amigo Berni acaba de comprarse una Vespa y también le apetecía bajarse a África, en concreto a Senegal, así que entre una cosa y la otra, nos fuimos animando y decidimos hacer una expedición en Vespa que va a intentar cubrir la distancia que hay entre Barcelona y Dakar.
David también pensaba en apuntarse, pero una lesión parece ser que le dejará fuera de combate... Si al final se lo repiensa, puede estar seguro de que le cuidaremos como se merece!

Hace tres años realicé la ruta Barcelona-Kuala Lumpur en Vespino, y aunque no es lo mismo me permito aconsejaros tres temas importantes: lo más delicado para iniciar el viaje es verificar el buen estado y la ausencia de fugas en el condensador de fluzo. Yo sufrí una descondensación de aupa en las afueras de Teheeran al iniciar el tramo que me llevaría a Karachi, y me pegué un palizón de pedalear que casi acaba conmigo. De hecho no pude resolverlo hasta Karachi mismo, donde encontré un super mecánico que con un poco de maña, un par de retrodifusores de filtro denso y una brida me lo dejó mejor que salido de fábrica. Un manitas el tío, pero desconozco si encontraréis a alguien de tanto nivel mecánico en el África Occidental...¿? (Más vale prevenir muchachos). Mi segunda sugerencia es que os llevéis un cojín standar (como los de la yaya), pues a partir de los 2.000 Km a más de 30º detectaréis que la piel de cabritilla del sillín empieza a pelarse, dejando aflorar las puntas de los muelles del interior. Si bien en la Vespino esto puede producir molestas rozaduras y rasguños en el orto y zonas colindantes, parece que el mayor diámetro de los muelles de Vespa os llevará a desgarros de más nivel que os obligarán a grandes kilometradas de pié o en posición "cagadera" pero sin apoyo posible (a menos, claro está, que estéis preparados gracias a mi consejo). Por último, y menos importante, explicaros que para seguir el rollo ecológico me llevé unas alforjas de mimbre en lugar de las habituales de lona o cuero. Eran preciosas, parecía un burrito de pesebre, pero no tuve en cuenta que por la noche los roedores de las zonas rurales los mordisqueaban hasta romperlas. El caso es que sin darme cuenta perdí el neceser y otras intendencias por esos mundos... Creo sinceramente que si tenéis en cuenta estas tres consideraciones ¡¡el resto es pan comido!!. Ya nos explicaréis vuestros progresos a todo el elenco de fans. ¡¡Mucha suerte y felicidades por la iniciativa!!
A ver colegas. Yo no es que sea toda una enciclopedia ni en preparar expediciones ni en temas mecánicos.
Pero eso de marcarse la vacilada de que me voy hasta dakar en vespa con un kolega y un par de huevos, después empezar a mendigar pasta a los kolegas con una camiseta cutre que te kagas de la que tienes que pagar hasta los gastos de envío y para acabar pedir consejos de 'como coño se arregla una vespa', 'por dónde tengo que ir' y 'que tengo que llevar en mi equipaje'.... ya sólo falta el blog 'no sé que ponerme'.
Si queréis quedamos un finde con los kolegas, os pagamos la puta camiseta, nos la entregáis en mano (que sino luego pasa aquello de no, tu no me pagaste) y os preparamos la ropita, la cantimplora, el saco, el neceser y las gafas de sol y os lo ponemos todo en la mochila.
¿Ya sabéis hacer la mezcla de la gasolina con el aceite? Si no os aclaráis con los porcentajes os puedo explicar un par de trucos para no gripar la moto.
Y tened en cuenta que el aceite de almendras hace un poco de carbonilla en la bujía (que es una cosita que hace chispitas).
